Blimey. We’re finally off – at long last. I don’t think either of us had realised how long it takes to get sorted for a trip like this. Or maybe we’re just faffers. I’ll leave you to decide.
Anyway, on to the journey. We’re already on sector 3 of a seriously multi-sector journey. We were quickly told by Alice and Zoe that getting a taxi to the airport wasn’t really in the spirit of our back-packing journey. So we’re now on the bus from Oxford …!
Thanks to Chris and Heather for some words of wisdom yesterday evening and a strong reminder that I need to slow down and relax. The measure is whether I can read a book – without feeling guilty and thinking I should be doing something else or losing interest and concentration halfway down page one. Watch this space. I’ll be reporting back
This journey for me is about relaxing / decompressing / resetting and generally reconnecting with Julie, myself and the world. For the last 31 years I’ve been working away, getting tense about stuff that doesn’t really matter and failing to take in everything around me. I’m now looking forward to the sights and sounds we’re going to experience. First stop, New Delhi. And if that doesn’t kick me in to a different gear, I don’t know what will!
Enjoy – be safe xx
